The Women's Empowerment Project Store bridges the gap between Urban Demand and Rural Talent
Across India, countless women trained through AMMACHIabs and CWEGE, Its twin research center at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s initiatives are turning their skills into livelihoods. The Women’s Empowerment Project Store serves as a bridge — We are bringing the Make in India vision to life in the most rural corners of the country, empowering women to produce locally and compete globally. The We Store is advancing gender equality in the global garment and bag manufacturing sector through our women seamstresses. Through our network of volunteers and in-house designers we are constantly endeavouring to build capacity and advance their skill sets to enable them to compete in the marketplace effectively.
Here, every product tells a story — a story of resilience, skill, and hope. Through this initiative, we support women-led enterprises in the following areas:
Building Market-Ready Products
Supporting the development of high-quality products that meet market standards and customer expectations.
Marketing and Partnerships

From concept to customer, we handhold women at every stage of their journey — helping them grow towards confidence, sustainability, and financial independence.
Amma Speaks
“The difficulties that common women face are not small. There are economic problems, family problems, safety problems, etc. For women in such circumstances to be able to find a profession, and stand on their own feet, comes as a great source of relief for them. That said, problems persist— at home, with their children, at work, etc. When these combine, it can be a tremendous weight to bear.
When such women are provided with self-confidence, training and wise-counseling, their lives develop new meaning. In reality, the key to a woman’s liberty lies in her own hands. In order to realize this, women need determination, forbearance and constant effort. We need to provide them with a little encouragement and guidance. If provided with the right opportunities, any woman can become a role-model for society.”-Amma*
